Skin is composed from two layers, epidermis – outer layer and dermis – inner layer.
Receptors of touch registering temperature and different types of pressure are all over the skin, but the highest concentration of the receptors is in the tongue, palms of the hands and palms of the feet. Superficial fascia, which is separating skin from other structures allows the skin to slide along them and to react on shift of the weight.
Touch is the first sense to develop.
