Part 1 – seated part of the dance class

Rena Milgrom (DMT, CMA, RSME ) is introducing basic principles and concrete movement proposal for the first part of a dance class for people with PD. This part of the class is focused on warming up of the body, on repatterning of the inefficient movement habits and generally improving the segmented mobility skills. Rena uses the principles of Laban/Bartenieff Movement Studies based on research at Parkinson Disease Foundation.

 

 

Part 2 – part in the space

Rena Milgrom (DMT, CMA, RSME ) is introducing basic principles and concrete movement proposal for the second part of a dance class for people with PD. This part of the class is focused on using stability/mobility, shift of the weight and working with the partner. Using free space and connection with the fellow dancers brings the group together and creates the energy of sharing. Rena uses the principles of Laban/Bartenieff Movement Studies based on research at Parkinson Disease Foundation.

 

 

Part 3

Kateřina Dietzová introduces the posibilities how to create the dance and movement material for class for people with PD: what are the anchor points in the class, ways of motivation for specific movement qualities, proposals for structure of the class. Katerina is sourcing from her work for organization Dance for Health (NL).
